sinetones were electronically generated in the cistern in four different groups:



– linear progressions through partials 2 – 27
[using 64th partial as the fundamental (58.24hz)]
– reverse progression through the same section of partials
– random progression within the same section of partials
– random clouds of parials 1100 – 1820 based on the fundamental being 0.91hz



These recordings were then used to construct a piece that moves in and out of audibility, subsuming and being subsumed by the listening environment as it does so. The playback volume should be set in relation to the listening space.
